WANA (Jan 30) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with senior officials of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in Doha, discussing the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank following the recent ceasefire and prisoner exchange.

During the meeting, Araghchi conveyed warm greetings from Iran’s Supreme Leader, President, and the Iranian people, congratulating Hamas on what he called a “historic victory” against Israel’s 16-month-long military campaign. He praised the resilience of Gaza’s people and resistance groups, emphasizing that their steadfastness forced Israel to accept ceasefire terms.

Reaffirming Iran’s unwavering support for Palestinian resistance, Araghchi emphasized Tehran’s commitment to backing Palestinian rights, including self-determination and liberation from occupation.

Hamas leaders, including Mohammad Ismail Darwish, head of the movement’s Leadership Council, in turn, expressed gratitude for Iran’s continued support, describing the recent developments in Gaza and the West Bank.

They credited the latest resistance victory to the steadfastness of the Palestinian people despite heavy bombardment and destruction, as well as the backing of the “Axis of Resistance,” with Iran at the forefront.

Both sides underscored the urgent need for global and Islamic nations to assist Gaza in overcoming dire humanitarian conditions and rebuilding war-torn areas.
